Helsinki Design Week 2020

Nomen Nescio is taking part of Helsinki Design Week 2020 main exhibition.

Helsinki Design Week is the largest design festival in the Nordic countries, celebrating design from a number of fields as well as fashion, architecture and urban culture. This fall Helsinki Design Week´s main exhibition will be held at newly renovated architectural landmark of Helsinki, the Olympic Stadium from 11th to 13th of September.

Nomen Nescio presents ”Tila”, an installation space reflecting the minimalist lifestyle and way of living. Tila is a mindful environment created for relaxing and slowing down. The softly finished surfaces, flow of light and meaningful design aim to create peace and harmony. All the materials are from Finnish nature, carefully considered, high quality and ecologically sustainable. Main material is finely crafted Finnish pine. Tila installation is manufactured with exquisite small producers around Finland.

Tila mini-house is heated up with a wall mounted sculptural bioethanol fireplace. The fireplace concept is ideal for the urban environment. When bioethanol is burned in the fireplace, it converts into water vapor and carbon dioxide. No flue is needed. Fire place is made of Finnish soapstone and stain-surfaced Nero Assoluto Granit. The fireplace is designed and produced in collaboration with Tulikivi.

A series of prototype furniture, interior design products and textiles designed for Tila are part of Nomen Nescio soon to be launched home line. Nomen Nescio home collection is focusing on minimalistic way of living. Everything is thoughtfully designed by eliminating the excessive to highlight the essential. Textiles are produced of organic linen, furniture from fine wood and ceramics formed by hand.
